Kate loves a challenge and is unafraid to take on something completely new. She began her working career in the tourist industry in her native Lithuania before switching into heavy industry in the purchasing department of a tube manufacturing company for the oil and gas industry. Kate is a strong character and more than capable of holding her own in a male dominated working environment.

The desire to be with her English partner brought her to the UK and she arrived at Avocet in July 2021 where her degree in Business Admin from LLC International University plus her experience in logistics and customs clearance has proved invaluable. Furthering the company’s diversity Kate is also multilingual speaking English, Lithuanian, Russian and a little German.

Kate says her earliest memories are the ice and snow of Lithuanian winters, sledging and ice skating although strangely she finds the English mild winters colder, it’s the dampness apparently. She says that the best thing about working at Avocet is to witness how quickly the company is growing and changing and recognising how much she is learning from being with a fab team.
