Mu-Metal Tube

Mu-metal is a nickel-molybdenum-iron alloy which is used extensively in magnetic shielding applications.

This very special material has a high magnetic susceptibility to an applied magnetic field, which can therefore be exploited by redirecting magnetic field lines away from areas that need to be shielded. By creating the hollow structure of a Mu-metal tube you can produce an effective shield that protects the contents of its tube from magnetic fields.

Avocet Precision Metals have partnered with Le Guellec, a precision tube manufacturer based in the North West of France. Le Guellec produce MuMetal tubes to customer specification, specialising in thin wall thickness’s and small diameters. Le Guellec can produce precision tube products up to 35mm outside diameter and with wall thickness’s as thin as 0.05mm.

There is no standard production for stock. Everything is designed and produced to meet each customer’s individual demands.
