Avocet are the UK agent for JLC Electromet, a producer and cold roller of nickel based alloys including controlled expansion alloys. These are iron-nickel alloys that exhibit low expansion at room temperature.

They are used in many glass to metal and hermetic sealing applications. By modifying the nickel content, metallurgists have created a range of alloys that are tailored to suit the specific application. JLC melt all their own alloys meaning all processes from melting to final draw is conducted in-house allowing for total control and exceptional quality.
